All our instructors at Beach City Driving Schools are thoroughly background checked and fingerprinted through the Department of Justice as well as the DMV. We also make sure to take our time when selecting instructors.

Every one of our instructors has a background in teaching and/or coaching and enjoys working with students of all ages and backgrounds. We have a staff of patient and friendly instructors that are ready and excited to teach you how to drive!

At Beach City Driving Schools we only use vehicles with top safety ratings. Safety is our priority. All our vehicles are equipped with a passenger master brake that allows the instructor to stop the vehicle if necessary. We treat each student as though they are members of our own family and we do everything that we can to ensure their safety behind the wheel.

The scheduling team emails you about lesson availability. Use that email thread for all scheduling and rescheduling; lessons are not booked by phone.
Minors book one lesson at a time. Appointments are first come, first served. Enroll early and allow time for practice between lessons; an approaching DMV test or permit deadline does not guarantee rush scheduling.
Newport Coast Lessons
Newport Coast lessons are tailored to teens, new adult drivers, international students, and licensed drivers seeking a refresher. Tell us about your experience and the everyday driving situations you want to handle more confidently.
If intersections along Newport Coast Drive or San Joaquin Hills Road concern you, discuss observation, gap selection, lane changes, and speed control with your instructor. Practice is chosen for your readiness and conditions.
Our six-hour program includes four private, 90-minute lessons, with no other student riding along. Separate appointments allow time to review instructor feedback and practice recommended skills between lessons.
Free pickup and drop-off at your door are included within our service area. California DMV-licensed, background-checked instructors teach in marked school cars with an instructor brake. Confirm pickup details and lesson arrangements by email.

Who can take driving lessons in Newport Coast?

How does the six-hour driving program work?
You receive four private lessons of 90 minutes each. There is no other student riding along. Lessons are tailored to your progress, with separate appointments so you can review feedback and practice recommended skills between sessions.
Is pickup from my Newport Coast home included?
Yes. Free pickup and drop-off at your door are included within our Newport Coast service area. Provide your pickup details when enrolling and confirm the location and lesson arrangements with the scheduling team by email.
Can I focus on intersections, lane changes, or parking?
Share the driving situations that concern you. Instruction can develop observation, steering and braking, turns, parking, lane changes, and judging safe gaps. Busier roads and freeway practice are introduced when appropriate for your readiness and conditions.
What instructors and vehicles are used?
Our California DMV-licensed, background-checked instructors teach in marked school vehicles equipped with an instructor brake. One-on-one instruction lets your instructor focus on your driving decisions, vehicle control, and individual goals.
How do I enroll or change a lesson appointment?
Choose your program online, complete the student questionnaire, and pay to enroll. The scheduling team emails you about availability. Keep all lesson scheduling and rescheduling in that email thread; appointments are not booked by phone.
Can my teen book all four lessons or finish quickly before a test?
For minors, we book one lesson at a time. Enroll early and allow for practice and normal appointment availability. An approaching DMV test date or permit deadline does not guarantee rush scheduling or completion by a particular date.
Are pickup, fuel, insurance, and completion certificates extra?
Our behind-the-wheel programs include pickup and drop-off within the service area, with no fuel or insurance surcharges. A completion certificate is included for students under 18. Review our published policies for cancellation, rescheduling, and other applicable fees.
Can I use a school car for my DMV driving test?
School-car use and instructor assistance on test day are available through a separate DMV test-day package, subject to availability. Review your program’s inclusions and email the scheduling team about test-day arrangements.
