All our instructors at Beach City Driving Schools are thoroughly background checked and fingerprinted through the Department of Justice as well as the DMV. We also make sure to take our time when selecting instructors.

Every one of our instructors has a background in teaching and/or coaching and enjoys working with students of all ages and backgrounds. We have a staff of patient and friendly instructors that are ready and excited to teach you how to drive!

At Beach City Driving Schools we only use vehicles with top safety ratings. Safety is our priority. All our vehicles are equipped with a passenger master brake that allows the instructor to stop the vehicle if necessary. We treat each student as though they are members of our own family and we do everything that we can to ensure their safety behind the wheel.

Our scheduling team follows up by email about availability. Keep all lesson scheduling and rescheduling in that email thread; appointments are not booked by phone.
For minors, we book one lesson at a time. Appointments are first come, first served. Enroll early and allow time for practice and availability; an approaching DMV test or permit deadline does not guarantee rush scheduling.
Dana Point Lessons
Dana Point driving lessons give new and returning drivers focused time behind the wheel. We teach teens, new adult drivers, international students, and licensed drivers seeking a refresher. Share your experience and goals when enrolling.
Practice the decisions that matter in everyday driving: checking surroundings, choosing safe gaps, changing lanes, turning, and parking. Your instructor adjusts each lesson to your progress, introducing busier traffic and freeway practice when appropriate.
Our six-hour program includes four private, 90-minute lessons with no other student riding along. Separate appointments give you time to review feedback and practice recommended skills between lessons.
Free pickup and drop-off at your door are included within our service area. California DMV-licensed, background-checked instructors use marked school cars with an instructor brake. Confirm pickup details and scheduling by email.

Do you teach first-time and nervous drivers in Dana Point?
Yes. We welcome teen beginners, new adult drivers, and international students. Tell us about your driving experience and concerns when enrolling. Your instructor can start with basic vehicle control and build skills at a pace suited to your progress.
How are the six hours of driving lessons divided?
The program includes four private, 90-minute lessons. No other student rides along. Each appointment focuses on your needs, with time between lessons to review feedback and practice the skills your instructor recommends.
Is pickup at my Dana Point home included?

Can I focus on DMV test preparation?
Discuss your test preparation goals with your instructor. Lessons can cover observation, intersections, lane changes, parking, and safe vehicle control. Practice is tailored to your current ability; completing a lesson program does not guarantee a passing test result.
Can licensed drivers take refresher lessons?
Yes. If you are returning after a break or want help with a particular driving task, tell us your goals. Practice can focus on the situations you find challenging, with busier traffic and freeway skills introduced when appropriate.
How do I enroll and schedule my lessons?
Choose your program online, complete the student questionnaire, and pay to enroll. Our scheduling team then emails you about availability. All scheduling and rescheduling must remain in that email thread; lessons are not booked by phone.
Can my teen book all four lessons or get rush scheduling?
For minors, we book one lesson at a time. Enroll early and allow time for practice and normal appointment availability. An approaching DMV test date or permit deadline does not guarantee rush scheduling or completion by a specific date.
What is included, and are there additional charges?
Behind-the-wheel programs include pickup and drop-off within the service area, with no fuel or insurance surcharges. A completion certificate is included for students under 18. Review our published policies for cancellation, rescheduling, and other applicable fees.
Can I use a school car on DMV test day?
School-car use and instructor assistance on test day are offered through a separate DMV test-day package, subject to availability. Check your program inclusions and email the scheduling team about test-day arrangements.
