At Beach City Driving Schools we only use vehicles with top safety ratings. Safety is our priority. All our vehicles are equipped with a passenger master brake that allows the instructor to stop the vehicle if necessary. We treat each student as though they are members of our own family and we do everything that we can to ensure their safety behind the wheel.

Costa Mesa Driving Lessons
A first driving lesson should give you a clear starting point. Beach City Driving Schools provides one-on-one instruction in Costa Mesa, California, for teen learners, new adult drivers, international students, and licensed drivers who want to sharpen their skills.
Our six-hour behind-the-wheel program includes four 90-minute lessons. With four separate sessions, students have opportunities to receive feedback, practice between appointments, and return with questions before moving on to more demanding driving situations.
Your instructor starts with the skills you need now. Lessons can cover smooth starts and stops, steering, mirror checks, turns, intersections, and positioning the car. As you are ready, instruction can progress to parking, lane changes, busier roads, freeway driving, and DMV test preparation.
Free pickup and drop-off at your door are included within our Costa Mesa service area. You train in a marked school vehicle equipped with an instructor’s second brake. Our California DMV-licensed, background-checked instructors tailor the pace to your experience; your lesson is not shared with another student.
Parents can help by asking what their teen should practice before the next session. Please plan ahead rather than waiting until a test date is close. For minors, we schedule one lesson at a time, and all scheduling and rescheduling are handled through the email thread with our scheduling team.

All of our Behind-The-Wheel Programs will include the following.

Is this Costa Mesa program for teens or adults?
We work with teen learners, adults learning for the first time, international students, and licensed drivers who want more confidence. Your instructor adjusts the lesson goals and pace to your starting experience.
What does the six-hour lesson package include?
The program includes four 90-minute, one-on-one behind-the-wheel lessons, with free pickup and drop-off within our Costa Mesa service area. There are no fuel or insurance surcharges. Check the selected program for its full details.
What can I expect during my first lesson?
Tell your instructor about any previous driving and the situations that make you nervous. Depending on your experience, the lesson can begin with vehicle controls, smooth starts and stops, steering, observation, and basic turns.
Can we focus on parking, lane changes, or freeway driving?
Yes. Tell your instructor which skills you want to improve. Instruction can include parking, lane positioning, mirror checks, selecting safe gaps, and freeway driving when you are ready. The plan follows your progress rather than a fixed route.
Can my Costa Mesa lesson start from home?
Free pickup and drop-off at your door are included within our Costa Mesa service area. Provide your pickup details when enrolling and confirm the lesson arrangements with the scheduling team by email.
What do I need for a behind-the-wheel lesson?
Have your valid learner’s permit or driver’s license, as applicable, ready. Wear comfortable shoes and bring any glasses or contacts you use for driving. Be ready at the agreed pickup time so you can use your lesson time fully.
How do I schedule or change an appointment?

How should parents plan the four sessions?
For minors, we schedule one lesson at a time. Enroll early and allow time to practice the skills recommended by the instructor between sessions. Availability varies; an approaching DMV test date does not guarantee an accelerated schedule.
Is a vehicle for the DMV driving test included?
Use of a school vehicle on test day is offered through a separate DMV test-day package. Check the program you select for what is included, and ask the scheduling team about test-day availability and arrangements.
